I asked to meet Cambridge Strategy Centre after I had read their paper Leading From The Side, which resonated strongly with my own thinking. At Forest Enterprise England we had embarked on an organisation-wide programme of change, called Releasing Our Potential, and a key strand of this was improving our ability to lead at all levels. Cambridge listened carefully to what I thought we needed to do, and planned a process to meet the key specification of engaging a large cross-section of staff.
The process started with my board of senior leaders and Cambridge facilitated thought-provoking, enjoyable workshops to help us develop a Leadership Model that that was bespoke to us. There were opportunities as we proceeded to adjust our thinking through discussion and challenge, which strengthened the feeling that the Leadership Model was our own.
The resulting Model is well-liked across the organisation and is in daily use to improve our leadership knowledge, skills and behaviours.
Cambridge Strategy Centre consultants have the experience to lift expectations and introduce wider perspectives – and enough nouse not to make us feel like numpties when we weren’t quite getting it right! And they did all of it on time and on budget.
